Reflection

Hello Gitte,
Thank you for teaching us the meaning of Art. I have shown you that I did not like the class during the semester, but I really liked the class. Before I took this class, I did not know about art. I remembered when I came, I went to the Art Institution. I got bored easily because I did not appreciate art. Now, the last two times I've been there, I could appreciate the art about how the artist painted their artwork. Artists also make drafts and their paintings are inspired by their life. In conclusion, any work of art we make for fun, it can be a work of art.

Virtual Museum

The Moma Beyond the Uniform has 5 floors. Each floor has different paintings by artists. The first floor has a artwork named "Wall Drawing #1144" by Sol LeWitt who worked at the MoMa before becoming famous. On the second floor there is a work of art that caught my attention. It was of the artist Keith Haring who created the artwork named "Untitled" in 1982. The artwork doesn't have a specific image, but the way it was drawn is very impressive. The artist did not make any draft of his artwork, he just painted at once. Maybe that's why people love taking photos of this artwork because of the way the artist made it.
Optional choice
This piece of art that my friend gave me in December. My friend said "I was giving me this piece of art as a form of a gift." This work of art is important to me because I can see how much my friend appreciates me.

The Art institute old Chicago is one of the oldest and largest art museums in the city. This museum has many old interesting and modern paintings where people enjoy almost every week. I explored the website, and I could see many collections such as cityscapes, impressionism, animals, essentials, and African diaspora. Also, I could find any information about the museum like the schedule of the time. In conclution, my experiences looking on the website was really good and interesting.

Choices 1
This incredible work of art was made by the French artist Edgar Degas between 1872 and 1874. He named his artwork "The Ballet Class". The painter used the type of material the oil paint and canvas. I chose this worl of art because it remained me when I danced ballte in my hometown. We used to go to a large classroom and the professor was in the middle of the class explaining how we have to dance and move our arms.

A Darwinian theory of beauty (summary)
According to TedTalk by Denis Dutton it is about beauty and comes from a person who was not a philosopher, but who was a naturalist, geologist and biologist. The beauty comes from the eye of the beholder. That means academic people prefer beauty in cultural conditions to the viewer and other people just enjoy it. Denis added that some people agree that music, paintings, and movies are beautiful because people appreciate art easily. Another thing he mentions is the art of prehistory. The works that are of humans like the caverns that people know as Lascaux and Chauvet. Since then humans have a taste for visual representations in the arts. Finally, he mentions modern art that people appreciate art like movies because it expresses emotion with music. In conclution, Beauty comes from our ancestors and also comes from our mind of how we can represent art.
